This Geek's Week(s)...

The last of my AOS stuff is done...

** Due tot he holidays and such, I just realized this is closer to 2 weeks worth of stuff!

Modeling/Hobby:
"Drinking Horn of Blood"
- SUCCESS!  I busted my butt, rushed a bit, but I managed to finish up all 20 Bloodreavers before the end of the year.  Which means, I officially finished up my Khorne 1/2 of the AOS starter...

Tabletop Games:
- Played a game of 40k with my daughter using the AoS rules.  It was pretty enjoyable, and worked really well!

- Played a game of Star Trek Attack Wing with my daughter.

- Played a 30 wound game of AoS, Bloodbound vs Brets.  It was pretty close at 10-7 wounds left at the end of turn 6.

Video Games:
- Played some more Star Wars Battlefront, though I'm pretty burnt out on it.  I did play with a friend, which was much more fun than always playing solo.

- Played a bunch of mobile games:  Star Wars Base command, Drop Assault, Freeblade, carnage, and space wolf.

- My daughter got Disney Infinity 3.0, so we've been playing that  together a bit.

- Played a bit of Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon.  I rolled up Bulbasaur, and chose s Mudkip for my partner!

- I've been playing Halo 5 a ton.  I'm really enjoying, but I'm pretty terrible at it!  I did awesome in my first 2 games, but I've stunk at it ever since!  My KDR is terrible!  ("WuhSawBe" on Xbox, if you ever wanna play and show me what I'm doing wrong!)

Books/Comics:
- Started reading Halo: Primordium, the 2nd book in the Forerunner saga, but I just could not get into it.  Instead, I've gone back to reading the Ultramarines novel: Nightbringer, though I did order Halo: Last Light on Amazon, so I'll switch to that when it arrives.

TV/Movies:
- Saw the new Star Wars movie, and I really enjoyed it!  I think it is safe to say that the beloved Star Wars franchise is safe in Disney and Abram's capable hands!

See everyone in 2016!

Merry Christmas!

Just a quick shout-out to say Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year to all my fellow Nerds and Ninjas out there!  Thanks for your continued support through reading, commenting, and sharing my blog!  (I wouldn't still be doing it without you all!)

This Geek's Week...

Modeling/Hobby:

- Worked a bit on my Bloodreavers for AoS.  I'd love to be able finish these by Christmas...

- I picked up a doormat, and cut it up to create a bit of farm field/wheat field terrain.

Card/Board Games:
- Played 4 games of the Pokemon TCG with my daughter...

- Played a game of Krosmaster Arena with my daughter...

- Played a game of Halo: Bang!

Video Games:
- Played a bit of Freeblade, Carnage, and Star Wars on my phone...

- Played some more Halo, finishing up both Halo 3 and 4.  Now I'm looking forward to picking up Halo 5, but in the meantime I'll go back to playing Star Wars Battlefront.  (I'm terrible at Star Wars Battlefront btw)

Books/Comics:
- Finished reading Halo: Cryptum.  It really kind of tanked in parts, but I'm still going to start reading the next book in the Forerunner saga.  I'm hoping it will pick up a bit...

Other Geek Stuff
- I've decided to convert my "Man Cave" (which I referred to as my "Nerd Lair") from a gaming area to a bit of a home gym.  One of the nice things is, I can ride the exercise bike/elliptical while I play Xbox.  Needless to say, my recent games of Star Wars Battlefront have got me sweating a bit extra...

Frostgrave: Completed Pathfinder Snow Goblin Tribe!

"Funny water tastest funny..."

One of the nice things about Frostgrave is how open ended the game is in regards to miniatures, giving a lot of people the chance to use all the random odds-and-ends, extra figures that may not have been usable in other systems.  For me, I chose to combine Frostgrave with my love affair of the Pathfinder setting.  I lack a group to play the Pathfinder RPG with, (I also lack time) so I have to come up with creative ways like this, and the Pathfinder ACG to get my Pathfinder fix.  It took awhile the Reaper Bones models to arrive, so I only finally got around to finishing them a week or so ago.  Anyway, here's my Snow Goblin Tribe, I lovingly called the "Bird Bone Tribe"...

SAGA Gameplay/Rules Review

Recently, I've received a request to follow up on my SAGA rulebook review, with a quick gameplay review.  At the time of writing this, I've got about 15 games under my belt.  I'm far from an expert at the game, in fact, I'm pretty bad at the game overall, with only 2 wins.  As I mentioned, I'm far from an expert, but I do have a grasp of the general basics of saga, enough to point out the various interesting aspects of the game and enough to teach a new player how to play.  That said, I'm going to call things like they are in regards to gameplay, if I like something I'll say so, if I don't like something, well I say so as well!  Needless to say, A lot of this will just be my OPINION on the game.  It should also be said, that I'm just going to go over the bare minimum, basics of gameplay.  By no means will be able to just read this and start playing, but I do hope it will at least spark your interest for the game, and overall just be informative.  Let's get started...

This Geek's Week...

** Bit of a light week, as I just did not feel like getting out of the house!

Modeling/Hobby:
- Finished up the rest of my Pathfinder Snow Goblin Warband for Frostgrave...

- Started to work a bit on my Daughter's "Mouse Guard" for Frostgrave...

Video Games:
- Finished up the first Halo and Halo 2 game, and have started playing Halo 3.  My goal is to get through Halo 1-4 by Christmas, and then picking up Halo 5.

- Played a bit of Persona Q on the DS...

- Played a bit of Freeblade on my phone...
... I'm also gearing up for my annual "End of The Year Statistics Post" where I take a look at the overall year, what I've been playing the most, just how much hobby progress I've accomplished, etc.  Usually I post it either towards the end of the year or first part of the next year.  Either way, I have a few more weeks to get a few more games in!

Until Next time,

Is there such a thing as too many tabletop games?

We had 40k, Fantasy, and Battletech...

Are there too many games on the market?

That's a question I see pop up every now and then, and it's one that I've been pondering lately.  I'm remembering back to when I first got into the hobby, I hesitate to say: "back in my day", but... Back in my day, it seemed your options were 40k, Fantasy, and if you were a "fringe gamer", you had Battletech.  I'm sure there may have been more out there, but if you walked into a game/comic book store where I lived, those were the only thing on the shelves.  (Along with cheap, random figure for RPGs)

This Geek's Week...

I finally gave in to my Halo cravings and bought an Xbox One...

Modeling/Hobby:

- Worked more on my Goblin Warband for Frostgrave, finishing up 2 of the 8 goblins.  I also finished up a fountain for one of the scenarios.

- I've been reading "Mouse Guard" to my daughter, and picked her up some of reaper's mouslings to use in Frostgrave.  She basecoated them, but wants me to do the detail work.

Video Games:

- I got an Xbox one (early Christmas gift to myself) along with Star Wars Battlefront, and the Halo collection.  My gamer tag is "WuhSawBe" if you ever wanna play...

- Downloaded the 40k Titan game: Freeblade, and the Star Wars Battlefront companion.  Although I haven't played much of it, I highly recommend Freeblade.  It's pretty fun to walk around in a giant behemoth of destruction!  The SWB companion is pretty fun as well, and if you play the console game, you may as well check it out too...

Books/Comics:

- I've started reading Halo:Cryptum.

- I read the Halo graphic novel, but it was a bit disappointing...

** I'm headed out of town for Thanksgiving, so there won't be much to post in the way of geekery for the next week or so.  Have a happy Thanksgiving holiday everyone!

This Geek's Week...

 Modeling/Hobby:
- Worked on my Khorne Bloodreavers for AoS.

- Worked on my Italians for FoW, finishing up the semovente 90/53's...

- The Goblins I needed to finish up my Frostgrave warband arrived (finally), so I've started working on them a bit...

Tabletop games:
- Played a 1/2 game of Frostgrave with my daughter.  She lost interest part way through.  10v10, despite it being her idea, was just a little too much for her...

- Played some Saga, Teutonic Knights vs Mongols, and once again faced off against mass shooting!  It was actually pretty close, but still an 11-14 loss for me.  (Anything less than a 3 pt difference is a draw). So far, out of 15 games, I've only won two.  Needless to say, I'm not very good at Saga...

Card/Board Games:
- Played a game of Xenoshyft, and managed to survive and win with 4 hp left on the base...

- Picked up the Halo version of Bang, to take on my trip out of town...

Until Next Time,

Age of Sigmar - Hobby Progress!

I've been plugging away at the AoS stuff, and have recently finished up all bu the Reavers from the Khorne starter stuff.  Without further blabbing, here's my Bloodsecrator, Bloodstoker, and Blood Warriors.  (How many more times can I say the word: Blood?)

All in all, I'm pretty pleased with how they all came out.  As I mentioned earlier, all that is left to finish out of my initial khorne models are the Bloodreavers.  Not sure what I'll do after those are completed.  I may end up picking up a second AoS starter, or I may end up getting a slaughterpriest, maybe some more warriors (if I don't get a second starter), or maybe some Skullcrusher cav.  I'm not sure yet...

Until next time,
-WuhSawBe-

This Geek's Week...

Pokemon + Battletech... why not?

Modeling/Hobby:
- Worked more on my AoS Khorne stuff, finishing up the Bloodsecrator, Bloodstoker, and the 5x Warriors...

- Worked a bit on my FoW Italians.  I finished up the two ammo carriers for the semovente 90/53's as test models for the weathering powders...

The Knights pushed the Franks back between the towers...

Tabletop Games:
- Played a game of Saga, Teutonic Knights vs Franks.  I tried a large, MSU Hearthguard army, but it didn't work...

Card/Board Games:
- Played a few games of the Pokemon TCG with my daughter...

Video Games:
- Played some War Thunder, German Air.  I'm not sure why I keep playing WT, since I don't really ever seem to enjoy it...

- Dug out the old Wii for my daughter...

- Played a bit of Smash Bro's and Pokemon on the DS.  I downloaded Mewtwo in smash bro's.  I also ordered the premium edition PersonaQ game for the DS.  Finally, I tried the demo of the new DBZ game on the DS, but found it pretty "meh".  I also gave Yo-Kai watch a try, but it lacks of the "nostalgia" of Pokemon for me personally....

AoS Hobby Progress - Khorne Bloodbound

Since going half-in on an already cheap AOS box (and having little else to paint on my desk) I've working almost exclusively on my Khorne models.  AoS really has reopened some of the GW floodgates for me, as they were fun models to assemble and paint, which has led to want to grab another AoS starter box, probably the Betrayal at Calth when it comes out, and maybe give the 40k LCG another go!  While I still have plenty of work left to do before the rest of the box is done, I figured I would go ahead and show the two models I have completed thus far: the Khorgorath and the Khorne Lord.

Up first, is the Khorgorath, in all his GORY-glory...

Sorry, I snapped the pic before adding the grass...

This Geek's Week...

Yep, my daughter has her own FoW tanks...

Modeling/Hobby:
- Worked more on my Age of Sigmar stuff, finishing up the Khorgorath and the Khorne Lord.

- Built some teleportation markers for one of the Frostgrave scenarios.

Tabletop Games:
- Played a game of Saga vs a shooty Welsh army.  Mass amounts of shooting are really just the bane of my Teutonic Knights.  I also really just didn't play all that well either, and I still think I need to switch things up with my army...

- Played a game of "Kidhammer 40k" and a game of "FoW-lite" with my daughter...

Video Games:
- Played some more of the Drop Assault game, and a little bit of Carnage on my iPhone. I also downloaded "Kerrunch" the Bloodbowl game, though I was not really feelin' it and deleted it.

- Played a few rounds of War Thunder US/German Tanks, but got kinda bored.

- Played a bit of GW2...

- Played a bit of Pokemon on the DS...

Until Next time,

Frostgrave Hobby Progress...

While I'm still waiting for the bulk of my Frostgrave Warband to arrive, I went ahead and worked on just a few things while taking a break from painting KDM stuff.  My idea was to combine Frostgrave with my love of the Pathfinder universe, and thus the idea for a tribe of Snow Goblins was born!  Pathfinder Goblins have this really unique look to them, and are so full of character, I knew I wanted a Goblin Elementalist (goblins like to blow stuff up!) and I lucked out when I read on the Pathfinder Wiki about the existence of these snow variants.  That said, I don't think I'll be stopping there in terms of warbands, there is potential for an actual Pathfinder Warband, as well as the idea for a Cheliax Summoner warband, decked out in Hellknights!  But, I digress.  Before I get too far ahead of myself talking about grandiose plans, let me show you what little bit I have completed thus far...

This Geek's Week...

Poor Khorgorath, they really wanted him GONE!

Modeling/Hobbby:
- I finished up the rest of the KDM monsters: the hand, the king's man, and the Phoenix.

- Finished up the Living Statues and my Goblin Wizard/apprentice for Frostgrave.

- I split an Age of Sigmar box with a buddy, and I took the Khorne stuff.  I only paid $37 for all those minis, so it was a pretty good deal imo.  So, I've been assembling those, and have started a bit of painting...

- Worked a wee bit on my Semoventes for FoW...

Tabletop Games:
- Rolled up to the game store, and sat down to play a game of KDM, only to find I left the minis in my other case at home!  Epic fail!

- Played a game of Age of Sigmar, Khorne vs Bretonnians.  It was fun, and a clear victory for the Bretonnians...

Video Games:
- On the app side, I've beenplaying a bit of the Warhammer Quest, Drop Assault, and Space Wolf on my iPhone...

- Player a few rounds of War Thunder.  I had a bad game in the BF-109's, a good game playing Italian Air, and a so-so game with German Tanks...

Until Next Time,

Hobby Progress! Core Box KDM monsters are done!

Recently, I made a bit of hobby progress on the Kingdom Death Monster front, and managed to finish up the rest of monsters from the core box.  As with the previous KDM models, they all painted up rather quickly, a perfect example was being up to finish up the Phoenix over just two night's work!  Anyway, on with the miniatures!

First up, is the Watcher.  He was a bit of a paint to assemble in some spots for sure!  I also did not see any detailed concept art to base him off of, so I kind of just "winged it" with more earthy tones of browns and grays.  I went that route based on couple of things, namely the "vines" popping out everywhere gave me an "earthy" feeling, as well as the fact it seemed he was clad in rags of various cloth.  I also went a bit more "painterly" with him as well.  All in all, I'm pleased with how he turned out...

This Geek's Week...

A quick shot of what is on my painting desk at the moment...
Modeling/Hobby:
- I tried to fix the "stickiness" of the Reaper Bones model, but with no luck.  I ended up buying a new Warchanter and a Goblin Commando for my Frostgrave Wizard/Apprentice.  **Lesson learned, DO NOT prime bones models!**

- Worked more on the last of my KDM monsters, finishing up the Watcher.  I also picked up some rare earth magnets to magnetize the various parts of my survivors.

- I attempted to make some Frostgrave terrain, but none of it seemed to really pan out except the living statues for one of the scenarios.  I think I'm just going to have to buy terrain instead of scratch-build it.

Tabletop Games:
- Played a 3 player game of saga, welsh, vs Franks, vs Teutonic Knights.  It went pretty much how every 3 player game goes... My Knights engaged heavily with the welsh, and neither of us could defeat the franks, which ended up winning.

Card/Board Games:
- Ran Sajan through the "Undead Uprising" scenario for the Pathfinder ACG.  (Perfect scenarios for the month of October!). I almost bit the dust on the "Crow Bait" scenario, as I failed vs the Villain 3 times in a row, but it was the Skinsaw Man that finally did him in...

- Played a family game of Elder Sign.

- More Pathfinder ACG, this time with the Magus, Seltyiel.  He's a pretty interesting character to play!  Thus far, he's gone through the "Brigandoom!" and "Poison Pill" Scenarios.  I've also given Darago, the Necromancer a try...

Video Games: (& Apps)
- I got on a bit of a GW kick (it happens) and downloaded a lot of the various free GW games and apps.  I must say, I'm pretty impressed with the Age of Sigmar app!  Being able to quickly thumb through the main rules, plus having all the warscrolls and unit stats on your phone is pretty handy.  I do wish that it was a little better organized, to make navigation easier, but all in all, it's not bad, and would be helpful if you are like me, and just want to see what the fuss is about!
That about does it for me this week...

This Geek's Week...

The inspiration for my Pathfinder/Frostgrave Warband...
Modeling/Hobby:
- I've been working on my KDM stuff.  I finished up the 4 survivors, screaming antelope, and the butcher so far.

- Picked up a Reaper Bones Pathfinder Goblin Warchanter and ordered 2x blisters of warriors.  My plan is to combine my love of Pathfinder with Frostgrave in the form of a tribe of Snow Goblins.  Thus, I've been working a bit on painting the goblin up, though I hit a bit of a snag!  For some reason, none of the paint sticks, it just rubs off at the slightest touch, yet the whole model feels sticky or tacky.  If I can't fix it, I may give all the bones stuff to my daughter, and go with metal models instead...

Tabletop Games:
- Played a game of Krosmaster Arena with my daughter.

Card/Board Games:
- Ran Sajan through the "Trouble in Sandpoint", "Approach to Thistletop", and "Thistletop Delve" scenario, to finish off the "burnt offerings" adventure 1 in the Pathfinder ACG.

Video Games:
- Played a few games of War Thunder US/German Tanks.

- After watching the twitch stream of Star Wars Battlefront, I've decided I really want to buy a PS4!  (Destiny also looks nifty).  I've never been that great at console FPS games, but I figured I should start brushing up on my aim, and played a bit of the old Killzone3.

Comics/Books:
- I finished the Frostgrave short stories:  "Tales From The Frozen City".

Kingdom Death Monster Painting Progress...

Since receiving my copy of KDM, I've been slowly plugging away at the minis within, and have made a bit of progress in the last week or two!  I figured that now, with a few models completed, I'd have enough to warrant an update post.  One of things I have noticed as a whole about the minis, is that with even while rushing, and with the minimalist of effort as I have been doing, they paint up rather quickly, and (imo) with some pretty decent results!  I'll present these in the order they were completed in, starting with the first monster, the White Lion....

This Geek's Week...

My Frostgrave tokens.  I tried to create an individual narrative within each one, with an overarching theme...

Modeling/Hobby:
- Finished up my Frostgrave treasure tokens.

So, this happened...
- Worked on my KDM stuff.  I've been doing a ton of assembly, all the monster are assembled now, and a little bit of painting. I've finished up the White Lion.

Card/Board Games:
- Played a few games of KDM.  My survivors kicked the White Lion's butt during the prologue.  They also held their own on the first hunt, but didn't come out of that entirely unscathed.  My settlement is coming along...

Video Games:
- Played a few rounds of War Thunder German & US tanks.

- Played some Guild Wars 2 PvP on my engineer...

Don't forget, you can follow Nerds vs Ninjas on Twitter as well @NerdsvsNinjas .  I tweet pretty regularly, and I keep things a bit lighter... not to mention you can keep up with my Soccer/Football antics on there as well!

NvN now on Twitter...

@NerdsVsNinjas

I may be a bit behind the times, but you can now follow NerdsVsNinjas on twitter as well...

My plan is to have my Twitter feed show a lot more of my daily thoughts, and musings, as well as plenty of WIP shots from my painting desk.

I also want to say THANK YOU to all those that routinely visit my blog, and take the time to comment and/or share my page.  I really do enjoy interacting with everyone, and it is nice to know that there is someone else on the other side of the computer screen.  As always, if you do take the time to leave a comment, rest assured that I've read it, and will likewise take the time to respond, even if it is just a simple "Thanks for stopping by!".  Again, thanks to all visitors out there!

This Geek's Week...

My Teutonic Knights set to face off against the Anglo-Danish for the 1st time...

Modeling/Hobby:

- Worked a bit more on my Frostgrave treasure tokens...

- Worked on cleaning up some of the gaps on my KDM stuff.

Tabletop Games:
My Knights charge deep into the enemy lines...
- Played a game of Saga, Teutonic Knights vs Anglo-Danish.  It was a tough, cinematic battle, and in the end, God sided with the Teutonic Knights.  Honestly, I had above average rolls all game long... Which is very unusual for me.

- Picked up the Varjazi & Basileus book for Saga.  I'm really leaning towards one of the Rus forces, simply to have a historical opponent for my Knights to face off against.

Card/Board Games:
- Played a game of the Pokémon TCG with my daughter...

- Played another game of Kingdom Death Monster...

Video Games:
- Played a round of Pokemon Shuffle.

- Played a round of War Thunder, US Tanks.

Until Next time,

This Geek's Week...

The White Lion from KDM is a BEAST! (pun intended)

Modeling/Hobby:
- Finished the 2 platoons of my FoW Panzergrenadiers, I've also worked a bit on my Italian Blackshirts and the Semovente 90/53's too.

- Made 6 "treasure markers" for Frostgrave...

- Worked a bit on some of the KDM models...

Tabletops Games:
- Ordered the Frostgrave Rulebook, now the tough question is what models to use...

- Played a heavily proxied game of Frostgrave, Necromancer vs Enchanters (Druids), and it did not end well for the Necromancers!  We played the "Living Museum" scenario, and it was a lot of fun!  I'm pretty impressed overall, and goes to show that you do not need an overly complicated rule set to create a fun game!

- My copy of kingdom Death Monster arrived, and it took me awhile, but I finally got it all unboxed and sorted.  I played through the prologue scenario to get a feel for some of the rules...

Video Games:
- Still periodically playing Pokemon Shuffle.  I'm really excited for Pokemon GO too!

- Played a round of War Thunder US Tanks...

Books/Comics:
- I finished up the Battletech novel: I Am Jade Falcon.  Next, I'm reading the Frostgrave short stories, to get a better sense of the setting...

Kingdom Death: Monster - Unboxing and Component Review...

** I apologize in advance for the strange intro.  Something strange is going on with Blogger, creating black text on a black background.  I'm really hoping this is an isolated incident.  After the intro, the text reverts to normal.

After a couple of years of waiting, my copy of Kingdom Death Monster finally arrived!  Don't take my mentioning the wait as a complaint, far from it!  I've been patiently waiting, hoping for the best, and I must say... I'm pretty pleased!  I've decided to do a quick unboxing of what I received, and a general overview of the components.  Please note, this is strictly a look and review of the components, I have not read the rules at all as of writing this, so I cannot comment on general gameplay.  If people request that I do I bit of a gameplay review, I certainly will do so after I get in a few games.  Let's get started...

Night Stalkers vs Lyran GPM - A Battletech AAR

A Father vs Daughter Death-Match, using the Battletech: Alpha Strike rules...

Setting the scene:
The Night Stalkers of the Draconis Combine crashed in the middle of city on a Lyran controlled planet.  The local Militia Garrison was the first to investigate, and were shocked to see Dracs in their midst! The Night Stalker pilots, who were already prepped for a surprise attack prior to the crash landing, have landed well past their intended factory target, but waste no time exciting the remains of their fallen craft...

Recently completed projects...

A little bit of Flames of War, a little bit of Battletech...

This Geek's Week...

Been in a bit of a 40k mood... I'm sure it will pass.

Modeling/Hobby:
- Finished up my Battle Lance for Battletech.

- Finished up the Pak 40's and the 1ic and 2ic for my FoW grenadiers.  I've since started working on the first of the grenadier platoons.  I've also pulled out my Italian rifle platoons and Semovente 90/53's and will sporadically work on them as well.

Tabletop Games:
- Played a game of "Kidhammer" with my daughter.

- Played a game of Battletech: Alpha Strike with my daughter.

Card/Board Games:
- Played 2 games of the Predator Deck builder.  I easily blew through the first Predator movie, barely a scratch, and never even saw the boss.  Predator 2 was much rougher, and I only barely made it out of that one alive!

Video Games:
- Played through the Krosmaster Arena Online tutorial.

- Downloaded Pokemon shuffle on my phone, and have been playing that a bit.

- Played a few rounds of TF2.

Until next time,
-WuhSawBe-

L5R returns in 2017 as an LCG!

I'm beyond excited, L5R has been sold to FFG, and will be turned into an LCG starting in 2017!  I've been in love with L5R since the Scorpion Clan was introduced in the Shadowlands expansion, waaaay back in the day!  I've played L5R off and on, for YEARS.  It wasn't that long ago that I had a weekly L5R group going, only to have it suddenly implode.  I've missed the game dearly since then.  So much so, I debating buying product even though I had no hope of ever playing.  Finally, with an LCG format, I'd be happy to collect the game once more, just for love of the game, even of I have no hope playing.

This Geek's Week(s)....

Modeling/Hobby:
- Finished up my two Teutonic Knight Bannermen.  I'm now all finished painting all of my initial Saga purchase...

- Picked up a couple of pigments, and I'm experimenting with exactly how to utilize them.

- Worked some on my Battle Lance for Battletech.  The Zeus is almost complete, barring the necessary decals...

Tabletop Games:
- Played a game of Saga, Teutonic Knights vs Mongols.  I'm getting closer to beating them, as this one ended in a draw...

- Played a game of Sails of Glory, and for the second game in a row, my own ships have crashed into each other and the frigate has sunk! Good to know that I still cannot predict movements...

- Played another game of Saga (my 10th game to date) vs Joksvikings this time.  I had him on the defensive, and things were looking my way, then I got a bit screwed by rules during a big melee, leaving my warlord and a unit Hearthguard "cheeks to the wind".  Things quickly went downhill from there.  When it ended though, it was closer than I thought it would be, but it was still a loss...

Card/Board Games:
- Picked up the Legendary Encounters: Predator deck builder.

Video Games:
- Played a bit of War Thunder, this time mostly Italian air, with some pretty good results.

- Downloaded Wakfu, though I doubt  I play it too often.

TV/Movies:
- Finished the first 2 seasons of Tokyo Ghoul on Hulu, and...  It.  Was.  Awesome!

This Geek's Week...

Sails of Glory!

Modeling/Hobby:
- Finished up my priest for Saga, now I'm down to just the two Bannermen left.

- Ordered a book on the Italian Blackshirts in order to get a better look at their uniforms.  A platoon or two of Italian rifles for FoW that I think I want to paint up as blackshirts for early war.

Tabletop Games:
- Played several games of "Kid-Hammer".

- Played a game of Krosmaster Arena.

- Played a game of Sails of Glory.

- Ordered the Alpha Strike Companion book.  I figured I would give it a look...

Video Games:
- Played a bit of War Thunder.  I switched from RB to arcade mode, the idea being that I'll get a better mix of tanks.  I'm tired of getting steamrolled by teams full of invincible T-34's.

This Geek's Week...

8 more Hearthguard finished.  I'm now up 5 pts worth!

Hobby/Modeling:
- Finished up 8x Hearguard for Saga.  I'm down to just the two Bannermen and priest!

Tabletop Games:
- Played a game of Saga vs Steppe Tribes.  Although I lost, I feel like I did better this time around.  The Milites Christi just seem to have no answer for all that shooting!

- I ended up trading all my X-Wing stuff for Sails of Glory stuff.  I'm looking more and more like a historical wargamer each day.

- Visited a different semi-local gaming store, and picked up 2 Italian CR. 42's for Wings of Glory.

Card/Board Games:
- Ancient Origins released for Pokemon, so I picked up both new theme decks, an elite trainer box, and a booster box.

- Played 2 home games of Pokemon.

- Played 2 games of Boss Monster with my daughter.

Video Games:
- Played a bit of PTCGO.

- Played a bit of War Thunder.  I did find, what feels like a bias towards Russian Tanks, to be rather annoying.  I place several shots, maiming crew, hitting ammo, engine, everything... Only to have them turn around and 1-shot me with an equal hit.

- Played a bit of Pokemon ORAS, mostly super training my team, trading online, and breeding Bulbasaurs and Scythers.

Until next time,
