This Geek's Week...

Bringing Halo to the tabletop in 28mm...
** Things have still be slow on the gaming front as of late.  I kind of lost my dedicated game night, and random "pick up games" are non existent at the moment...

Hobby/Modeling:
- Worked some more on Plast Craft terrain.  I managed to get everything assembled, now I need to begin painting...

- Finished up both of the 2 infinity figures I picked up along with my Plast craft order.

Video Games:
- Played some more Halo 5, both Warzone and Arena.  I joined a Spartan Company for us old timers with families called: "Spartan Dads".  I did have a few epic moments, one was during an assault match where I singlehandedly wiped out the spire of its defenders, getting 6+ kills in a matter of seconds!  Another was during an arena match where I ended killing 3/4 of the entire team with a single grenade throw.  I think that may have been my best match to date...

- Played some Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon on the DS.

- Played some Disney Infinity with my daughter.
Until Next time...

Plast Craft Infinity Terrain Review...

My latest Plast Craft terrain order arrived from MiniatureMarket the other day, and after how successful the last Medieval Building went, I figured I would do another review on the infinity bourak terrain set.  I'm going to reference a lot from that earlier post, so if you have not managed to read, you find it helpful to go back and do so.

So, without further ado, let's get started!

This Geek's Week...

Hobby/Modeling:
- Picked up a set of woodland scenics trees.

- My Plast Craft Medieval Building arrived, and was quickly assembled and painted as you probably already saw.

- My follow up order of a bunch of Plast Craft infinity terrain arrived.  So far, I've assembled 2 of the 6 boxes...

- I picked up a few random infinity figures, and I have started to work on them.

Board/Card Games:
- Played a family game of Rampage.  (First tabletop game of 2016)

Video Games:
- Played a bunch of Halo 5.  Managed a 1st place win in Gold Ranked FFA.  I also think I'm really liking Warzone Assault as well.

- Played a bit of Disney Infinity with my daughter...

- Watched more of the Halo Championships.  I mostly follow the player known as" Ninja", and those were some intense games!

Until Next time,

Plast Craft Medieval House Unboxing/Assembly/Review...

Checking out the poll results (despite the small number of votes) it is clear that many of you think I should work on filling out my gaming table a bit more.  In light of those poll results, I decided to give Plast Craft games a look, and decided the safest thing was to order a single terrain piece, to check the quality and such BEFORE buying a whole table's worth of it. Seeing as I could use a medieval house to use with Saga, I decided to start there.

A quick shout out.  I purchased this from MiniatureMarket.com, one of the online shops I sometimes frequent.  I live in KS, and their location is somewhere around St. Louis, MO. It may not exactly be a "local gaming store", but at about 5 hours away, it is pretty close to one as far as online retailers go!  The average cost of Plast Craft terrain is around $15 on MiniMarket.  I ordered it late on Thursday night, after hours, and ended up shipping the following day on Friday.  (I chose FedEx shipping). It was scheduled to arrive on their following Friday, and I was a bit bummed as I had no other hobby projects to work on.  To my surprise it actually showed up Tuesday afternoon, so 3 days early!  Below is my unboxing, or unenveloping, and overall review...

This Geek's Week...

HQ and 1st Platoon of my Italian Blackshirts...

**A bit lite on the geek stuff this week...

Modeling/Hobby:
Quick & dirty!  Finished in about 2 night's worth of work...
- Managed to finish up both Platoons and the HQs for my FoW Italians.  Thus finishing up all  every single model I own.  I've done it, I've painted EVERYTHING!

- Ordered one of the Plast Craft Medieval Buildings to check em out.  If I like it, I'll be ordering a bunch more, as per the poll on the right!  (Figured I should go the safe route and check out a single piece before diving all in!)

- Picked up a new set of brushes.

Video Games:
- Played a ton more of Halo 5's multiplayer.
(Xbox Gamer ID: WuhSawBe)

- Watched the Winterfox vs Optic Halo CS qualifier match.

Still plenty of time to vote on my next project.  Right now, it is looking like a majority think I should work on filling out my gaming table as opposed to buying more models!  Let me know what YOU think!

New Poll, because being indecisive kinda stinks!

Over on the right hand side, I started up a new poll to try and help me decide what to work on after my Flames of War stuff is completed.  Really briefly, I'll explain a little about my plans for each of these, and the goal is to hopefully get me out of this "gamer funk" that always seems to happen at the start of the new year, get the ball rolling once more on the hobby and gaming side of things, and just hopefully allow me to get in more games!  For this, I need YOUR HELP!  (I'm being way too indecisive)  Feel free to chime in, and please, please, PLEASE, spread the word!  The more votes, the better!

Below are my initial thoughts/plans:

2015 End of the Year Gaming Report...

2015 is now officially at an end, and one of the fun things I like to do is look back and see just what all I had accomplished in the year.  Last year, I kept track of all the books I read, something which I forgot to do, BUT something I want to do once more in 2016.

Up first, let's take a look at the top 5 played games of 2015:

Pokemon TCG - 189 games
Pathfinder ACG - 19 games
Saga - 15 games
Krosmaster - 6 games
Boss Monster  - 5 games

A grand total of 298 games played...

This Geek's Week... (first of the year!)

Modeling/Hobby:
- Worked a bit on my FoW Italians.  I've really come to the conclusion that I dislike painting 15mm infantry, but they are literally the last of my models left unpainted.  (And I'm trying best to avoid buying any more models until they are done!)

- I picked up a display case from Ikea for my painted miniatures.  After running out of useable foam for My battlefoam case, I decided I should be displaying them all anyway, and just packing whatever minis I may need for a given game...

Video Games:
- Played a bunch of Halo 5.  Finished the solo campaign.  I started playing warzone, and despite having some positive initial games, it ended up being a bit frustrating.  Same goes for the big team battles. I think that I dislike the vehicles and unranked matches as a whole.  I'm really enjoying Team Arena and Free-for-all, where I can hold my own vs people of similar skill level.  Gold/Silver ranks respectively.
(Gamer ID: WuhSawBe)

- Played some more "Adventures of Bulbasaur & Mudkip" aka Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon.

Comics/Books:
- started reading Halo: Last Light.
