This Geek's Week...

Thanks to all the Men and Women serving in our armed forces!
Happy Memorial Day!

- The games from my recent BGG trade arrived on Monday.  I now own the Panzer General game with the expansion.

- Played through the first act of the "No Rest For The Weary" story quest.  The soldier died in the 2nd room,  but the brigand pretty much raped-face all the way through, though I think I may have been playing his suicide run incorrectly at first.  The brigand walked out with plenty of loot too!

- Finished painting up the rest of my MYTH heroes.  I'll probably start working on the crawlers next.

This Geek's Week...

What could be more epic than Sajan punching a T-Rex in the face?!?

RIP old friend.  Made it 1/2 way through deck #5.
- Ran Sajan through a few of the scenarios from the Pathfinder ACG deck #5.  First was, "Underneath Sandpoint", followed by the "Rimeskull" scenario, which almost did Sajan in!  It came down to the wire, as the 7 stone heads created a situation of attrition, both with Sajan's health and the blessing deck.  By the time I faced the boss, I was down to my last handful of cards, and I would not be able to survive more than a single failed combat.  I got lucky, and managed to bring down the dragon.  Then Sajan breezed through the "Halls of Seduction" scenario, however Sajan would not make it out of the "Thassilonian Sins" scenario and the "Festering Maze of Sloth" alive!  Bummer, Sajan lived such a long life, but the Maze of Sloth's "no more than 1 card per check" coupled with the villain's 25 combat check just did him in, as he couldn't rely on playing multiple blessings.  Bummer.  Guess I gotta focus on a new character now! =(

- Worked some more on my MYTH minis.  I tried to play a game of MYTH, only to realize I truly didn't know what I was doing, and stopped after a few rounds...

- Conducted another trade on BGG. I traded my Netrunner stuff and Pocket Battles for a copy of Panzer General: Allied Assault + Russian expansion, as well as another LoTR LCG core box.  (If all goes well)

- Worked on my 509th Paras for my US FoW stuff.  I'm taking it slow with my 2nd FoW army, as I have been unable to get in any FoW games yet...

- Finished reading the Wild West Exodus novel: Honor Among Outlaws by Craig Gallant.  Started reading the Pathfinder Tales novel: Queen of Thorns by Dave Gross.

Spoiler-Free Book Review: "Honor Among Outlaws", a Wild West Exodus novel by Craig Gallant

This time I'm taking a look at Honor Among Outlaws the first book of the Jesse James Archives, set in the Wild West Exodus tabletop game setting, by the D6 Generation's Craig Gallant

From the back of the book:
In an alternate history twisted through the evil influence of strange, mysterious creatures, the greatest figures of American History battle for dominance and control of a war-torn nation.  High tech machines and weapons dominate the land as the world changes daily with each new invention.  In the middle of this clash of giants, two lone outlaws, Jesse James and William "Billy the Kid" Bonnie, strive for recognition and their share of the glory, struggling for their place on the national stage.

Painted MYTH Brigand & This Geek's Week...

This Geek's Week...
This time around I'm combining posts.  It felt like I have just been swamped with stuff this week, that I got very little in the way of "geekery" in.  I worked a bit on my MYTH minis from last week, finishing up the Brigand hero, but other than read rules, and punch out game components, I have done little else.

The Painted Brigand Hero...
Anyway, here's the Brigand hero for MYTH.  I started him first, mainly because I was curious about how to paint his fur.  The art for MYTH is very "photoshopy" (not a word, but I'm using it) for lack of a better term, and I wanted to kind of mimic that wet, streaky, photoshopy, look in the Brigand's fur.  All in all, it was a relatively quick and easy model to paint.  Clean up was a bit of an issue due to the model's material, but as I'm not really going for anything "high quality" in the paint/modeling department, I'm fine with a few blemishes.  All in all, I'm pretty pleased for such a quick paint job!

Myth - Unboxing and Component review!

"For the Night is dark and full of terrors..." wait, wait, wrong game!

My copy of Myth arrived, and I could not wait to rip into the box and start diving through the contents!  This post will be showing you exactly what you can expect see upon lifting the lid, as well a brief review of the components within.  I won't be going into the rules, but if you were ever curious as to what comes in the box, then this post may be of interest to you.  Let's get started...

This Geek's Week...

- Worked a bit on painting my 509th Paras for my LW US army.

- Played several games of War Thunder in RB.  Most of my games were TERRIBLE, but I did manage one good one.

- Ran Sajan through the entire 4th adventure in the Pathfinder ACG.  I also started up a Lini deck.  She's interesting, she struggled, even with the first Brigandoom scenario, BUT she had crazy healing abilities!  I healed her from close to death, all the way to full on a couple occasions.  I also ordered Adventure deck #5.

- Played a few games of Rampage with my daughter.

- I ended up trading my copy of Krosmaster Arena for a copy of Duels in the Dark.

- Ordered Myth, so you can expect see pictures of painted minis from that game soon!

- Played a single game of Hearthstone.  Although I was clearly outclassed, based on all the premium cards he was using,  it was still a really close game.  I got him down to 3 health, though I knew he had me next turn unless I drew a direct damage spell.  Sadly, I drew a puny 1/1 minion and conceded the game.  I still refuse to spend a single $ on it...
