STOP playing unpainted! STOP the Miniature Abuse!

Every time you bring an unpainted army to the table, a baby bear dies...

Something's been bugging me lately, and really ruining the overall fun, immersion, and enjoyment of the gaming hobby for me personally.... and that is the prevalence of "Miniature Abuse" that I see every time I visit the LGS in the form of playing with unpainted minis!  It's time that we, as a collective gaming community, come together and set a new standard bar of what is an acceptable level of painting before a miniature can see time on the tabletop.  Otherwise, what's the point the hobby aspect of this hobby?  Maybe I've just turned into a "paint snob" after my 25+ years of gaming experience...

Test of Honour Painting Update

A little while ago, I finished up my Scorpion Clan (from the card game Legend of the Five Rings, or L5R) that I planned to use in Test of Honour.  Another bit of a rush job, simply cuz I was tired of having them on my painting desk.  As for the 2nd army, the Phoenix Clan, I pawned them off my 7 yr old daughter to finish up.... seeing as they were her's anyway.  So, once again, I'm out of miniatures to paint, and I'm 100% fine with it.  Anyway, here's what I finished up...

CONGO BSAC Painting update

A month or so ago, I rushed through painting my British South African Company for CONGO.  I rushed, mainly because they were just being shelved anyway, and I wanted to clear them off my painting desk.  That said, I still think they turned out fine....
(Models are from Northstar btw)

First up, the leader of the ill-fated Shangani Patrol, Major Allan Wilson.  I'm running my BSAC as an "expedition" force in the rules, and this will be my main leader.  (Running him as a "Retired Officer") He came both on foot and mounted, but there are no rules for mounted models currently in the game, so I've saved the horse and rider.  (Maybe I'll convert it into a statue of some sort)  I went with the basic uniform based off of some of the research I've seen, and all of my BSAC will be in various browns with white shirts.

Up next, the scouts...
